Charitable Giving
On September 18th, Omega proudly sponsored a hole at the first Annual Golf Tournament hosted by Storehouse of Mercy! All funds raised during the event were dedicated to supporting the daily operations of Storehouse of Mercy, which currently stands as the sole evening food pantry in operation.
Omega is sponsoring teams participating in the upcoming Annual Birdies for Brain Health Charity Golf Fundraiser, dedicated to combatting chronic neurological diseases and disabilities. The event will be on October 16th at 12 pm in Evans, GA. We just have one more player spot before we initiate the waitlist. If you have any inquiries, please reach out to Haley Trapuzzano at htrapuzzano@omegatechserv.com.
Community Event
This month, Omega attended the second Annual ORAU STEM Job Fair at the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE) in Oak Ridge, TN. They engaged with several potential candidates while networking with other members in the community. It was a very successful day!
A Note from Bill Tindal
Lightbulb Moments
Written by Bill Tindal
As I complete my first two months as President, there are a couple of light bulb moments that I would like to share. I’m thankful to Tim for the opportunity to expand my horizons and for the time he has given me to learn the business.
Last month, Tim and I traveled to Aiken. The purpose of the trip was for Tim to introduce me to the leadership at SRS. But as most of you know, any visit like that includes walking through the halls where you all work and continuing the one-on-one relationship that Tim is known for. We touched base with folks supporting the Surplus Plutonium Disposition project and chatted with several of you who are supporting the SRPPF project. I’ve known for a while that Omega is built upon the relationships that Tim has developed over time. But there was a realization that I hadn’t expected. We’re also being built by the networks that each of you has developed. While we were walking through the trailers full of cubicles, we heard several examples of Omega employees reaching out to former co-workers and referring them to Omega. That was a light bulb moment. High performers tend to want to work with other high performers. That was a humbling realization. Please continue to refer high-performing colleagues to Omega. Our success depends on all of us keeping our standards high.
That evening we met with another group of Omega teammates. I wasn’t prepared for what I experienced. I’ve been to events like that many times in leadership roles in the past. Meetings like that are polite and respectful, but also cold. They’re cold because most people that I would meet with are frustrated by a variety of issues. They’re balancing hope that you can help with their frustration with the reality that it’s a big organization that is difficult to change. I would often enter those meetings expecting to be on the defensive. So, expectations are low… on both sides. What I experienced that evening was different. Far from being “cold”, the folks we met with were genuinely happy to be working with Omega. Sure, there were action items that Bill Giddings was working through, but the tone was different. There was a feeling of friendship and warmth. I wasn’t prepared for that. My second light bulb moment. The folks we met with chose Omega, not the other way around. As I continue to gain experience, I also realize the responsibility I have for maintaining Omega as a company you would choose again.
I’m looking forward to Tim’s and my next trip. This time to Los Alamos.

Employee Spotlight
Congratulations on a job well done to Ray Maxwell and the assigned Omega employees who worked on the ICP Project! The below acknowledgment is from Stephen King at the Idaho Environmental Coalition:
Ray,
Thanks for all you have done to get IWTU up and running. You have been the most dedicated and reliable person I have ever known. You were always available no matter when we called, and you brought solutions.. not more problems. It has been a true pleasure to work with you. Thank you.

Aiken PMO Update
PMO Status
The Aiken PMO office has seen significant changes since its inception in October 2022. The original staff included the PMO Managing Director, Bill Giddings, and the Resource Manager, Haley Trapuzzano. Since that time, the PMO has added Jacquelyn Kane, Director, Talent Acquisition, and Leslie English, Technical Recruiter, to the Omega Team.
PMO Events
The PMO staff recently attended the Aiken Chamber of Commerce State of the Community event at the USCA Etheridge center. The discussion was driven around all the changes being made to the local community because of the settlement between the state and SRS over the delay in moving Plutonium from the Savannah River Site to WIPP, and the termination of the MOX contract. Many exciting changes are expected to be seen in Aiken and the surrounding communities from this settlement.
Coming Changes
With the significant increase in the Omega presence at the Savannah River Site, comes the need to upgrade the office space at the Aiken PMO.
At the end of CY2023, the PMO will undergo a facelift and will provide upgraded office space and amenities to both the PMO staff and to the Omega Team for remote working needs, such as having a Turn-Around Office and conferencing areas for remote meetings. Improvements will be published in future newsletters.
From the Desk of Jacquelyn Kane
Director, Talent Acquisition
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! College football, cooler weather, and the Holidays are right around the corner. This is my favorite time of the year, and for me personally, it’s a “season of gratitude.” Your Recruiting team has been very busy, and we were lucky enough to add Leslie English to the team at the end of July. I’m grateful that Leslie chose Omega, and I know that her knowledge and talent will be an asset to our department. Speaking of gratitude, I am also grateful for our company leadership who gave me the amazing opportunity to manage and lead our Recruiting operations. I will continue to roll up my sleeves and work hard to ensure our client is pleased with the caliber and quality of our candidates, as well as advocate for our candidates. I knew that joining the Omega family was the right decision, and looking back
at this past year and how much we’ve grown only validates that. Last, but certainly not least, I am beyond grateful to all our team members for choosing Omega. Technical Recruiting, specifically nuclear, is a tough and very competitive niche. We realize you had a choice and we’re grateful that you chose us! Our employees are our greatest asset, and with your help and hard work we’re all working together to support the safe and efficient operations of nuclear facilities throughout the Department of Energy (DOE) complex as well as the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) sites.
Again, I thank you.
Most gratefully yours,
Jacquelyn

Fun Facts
- Listening to your favorite music for just 15 minutes a day lowers stress levels, anxiety, sadness, and a depressed mood.
- October is Hispanic Heritage Month! It starts Sep 15th and ends Oct. 15th. The start date is important because it marks the independence anniversaries of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence on September 16th and September 18th, respectively.
