Omega Technical Services About Us

In 1995, former U.S. Navy submarine reactor operator Tim Trapuzzano founded Omega Technical Services (Omega) with a vision: to bring military-grade precision and expertise to civilian nuclear operations. Drawing on his naval nuclear experience, Tim established Omega as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) dedicated to supporting the Department of Energy’s Nuclear Security Enterprise.

Today, Omega stands as an award-winning leader in nuclear facility operations, bringing a unique “fleet mentality” to the civilian nuclear sector. This approach—developed from naval nuclear operations—ensures consistent, high-quality “deck-level” support across the entire lifecycle of nuclear facilities. From new construction projects to the life extension of World War II-era facilities, and the cleanup of legacy environmental issues, our expertise spans the complete spectrum of nuclear operations.

The “Omega Way” has proven transformational in maintaining the nation’s nuclear deterrence capabilities. We provide essential technical and professional support to organizations managing nuclear hazards throughout the weapons production complex. Our work connects leading Subject Matter Experts with opportunities in some of the world’s most unique and challenging facilities, ensuring safe and efficient operations across the Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Environmental Management (EM) sites.

Crucially, we serve as a bridge between generations of nuclear expertise. As we train new cohorts of proficient nuclear workers, we carefully preserve and transfer critical knowledge from previous generations. This commitment to knowledge continuity ensures that decades of operational experience and insights are never lost.

Looking ahead to 2029, we’re expanding our presence to all NNSA sites, while remaining true to our SDVOSB heritage. Through strategic staff augmentation and consultancy services, we’re building an integrated network of expertise across the nuclear security infrastructure. This site-to-site retention and sharing of critical knowledge isn’t just Omega’s future—it’s vital to maintaining our nation’s nuclear capabilities. For a safer country. For a safer world.
