Charitable Giving
Our Aiken team had the privilege of supporting and being the title sponsor for Day One Fitness in the Birdies for Brain Health fundraising golf tournament located at Champion’s Retreat in Evans, GA, on October 16th. Day One Fitness has been serving individuals in the community with unique challenges of brain health degeneration and disability due to Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Stroke, or Multiple Sclerosis to help increase quality of life through exercise.

A Note from Bill Tindal
Change Happens
Written by Bill Tindal
Last month, Tim and I traveled to Los Alamos to meet with site leadership, the Program Management Office (PMO), and the Omega personnel that staff the Operations Integration Center (OIC). I have been to LANL many times in my previous career with Y-12 and it was good to see a few old friends. It was clear that much has changed at the site including the sheer volume of people working to support the pit production mission. That visit brought with it some thoughts about change.
My daughter, Angela, for example, now has a baby daughter. My granddaughter, Raiya, is 8 months old. The other day, I told Angela that I could see the changes in her as she grew up, but we never recognized the changes that she made in us. This is easier to see now that she has become a mother. Angela is not the same person that she was 10 years ago (or even last year). Having Raiya made her a different person and I think this change happens for many of us at different times in our lives. It’s much easier to see the external changes around us while missing the internal changes within us. While raising my children, I was too focused on the kids to see the changes they made in me. But, as I look back, I’m very thankful for it.
Omega is also changing. We have a great team of professionals with diverse experiences who are making a difference for the nation. We’re growing the home office staff and establishing processes and procedures to ensure the entire Omega team is supported. We’re also ensuring our clients are supported both contractually and in their missions. All of this brings about change. Omega isn’t the same company it was 10 years ago (or even last year). We’ve grown and learned from every experience, every interaction, and every new teammate. I’m thankful for how Omega has changed me.
Our road ahead will surely be filled with challenges. Keeping things simple and honoring relationships is still who we are and who we will be in the future. Let’s all keep in mind that for each change Omega makes on its path forward, there’s a small part of us that must change along the way.
Employee Spotlight
This month’s employee spotlight recognizes Carol Hackler, Corp Receptionist, Office Administrator, and RMDC Custodian. She is a person who embodies dedication, compassion, and humor. Carol recently demonstrated her exceptional talent for organizational event planning by handling most of the logistics required in planning Omega’s 2023 Strategic Off-site meeting. She went above and beyond to consider special needs and personal preferences of everyone in attendance. Caring for others with a servant’s heart is what she feels called to do.
Carol’s kindness goes far beyond her professional achievements. She’s also a devoted foster mom and primary caretaker for her elderly mother. Her ability to balance these roles with such grace is nothing short of inspiring.
Carol is also known for being the brightest spark in the office. She can light up the office with her humor, stories, and kindness. She is always there to offer a lending hand, a much-needed joke, and to be a protective presence.
Carol embodies our core values through what she does. November is known as the month of Thanksgiving. While we are counting our blessings, honoring Carol and the kindness she brings to the workplace is at the top of our list. Her genuine and selfless approach to her professional and personal life reminds us of the difference one person can make.
Please join us in recognizing Carol for being the heart and soul of our team. We are grateful indeed!

Pet of the Month
This month’s featured pet is the beloved dog of David Jenkins, who serves as the Controller at our Oak Ridge location. This is Indy. She is a six-year-old Shetland Sheepdog. She loves eating, sleeping, walking, and pretending she’s an alligator. She’s also David’s oldest daughter’s favorite photography subject. She’s part stinker and part diva.
Remember to submit your pets to hr@omegatechserv.com for a chance to be selected next month and win a PetSmart gift card!!
