2023 TVC Summit
Recently, our VP of Business Operations, Dwight Warnock, attended the 2023 Tennessee Valley Corridor National Summit. It was a great time networking with corridor business leaders and government officials such as Congressmen Chuck Fleischmann, Mark Green, and Dale Strong on the challenges and work they are doing to support the TVC in Washington, DC. We look forward to attending the 2024 Summit!
Idaho Facility Now Processing 100% Radioactive Liquid Waste
This month, DOE reported that the Integrated Waste Treatment Unit (IWTU) has progressed to treating sodium-bearing waste entirely, the next step in efficiently removing remaining liquid radioactive waste from nearby Cold War-era underground tanks and closing them to protect the environment.
To date, IWTU has converted more than 14,700 gallons of tank waste to a more stable, granular solid. Crews have filled 47 stainless-steel canisters with waste and safely stored them in the IWTU’s concrete storage vaults.
Congrats and thanks to the many Omega employees that have been involved with this effort for nearly 10 years, helping DOE EM meet this important milestone! Read the article here.
