Employee Spotlight: Laying Wreaths in Honor of Veterans
This past month, a group of Omega employees laid wreaths at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood, TN. We were honored to sponsor these wreaths in memory of local veterans and their families this holiday season. We thank them for their service.
Special thanks to Monty Fritts and The American Legion Post 50 for coordinating these efforts!
Past Performance Spotlight:
Y-12 National Security Complex Production Restart
As we look to the New Year, we reflect on our history and how far we’ve come. Read an overview of Omega’s first contract at the Y-12 National Security Complex in 1995 to assist with production restart.
DOE Succession Planning in Action
The importance of succession planning in any industry is necessary, but it is vitally important when national security is involved.
That’s why we have branded as a solution to “Bridge the Gap” throughout our industry.
By valuing the entire career life cycle of an employee, Omega is able to recruit talent in all stages of life – both the veteran employee that wants to leave a lasting legacy of their expertise and the one just starting their career to become a nuclear Subject Matter Expert (SME) – and everything in between.
We are proud to welcome Connor McReynolds onboard. As a recent college grad, this shows our commitment to mentoring nuclear talent, and retaining critical knowledge needed to support all organizations responsible for maintaining and sustaining the strategic deterrent.
Lunch & Learn
The Omega Headquarters Team has started a professional development initiative! Monthly, an employee picks an industry-relevant book to read, becomes a Subject Matter Expert on the topic, and then informs the rest of the team about their learning over lunch. This month, Lindsay Jones (Communications Specialist), discussed The Ideal Team Player.
The book argues one excels most when they are humble, hungry, and smart.
