Charitable Giving
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Omega Technical Services donated funds to the Catholic Charities of East Tennessee (CCETN). Catholic Charities of East Tennessee are a coalition of service-driven community-centered programs empowered by the grace of Jesus Christ. Their normal role is to help foster human dignity of the vulnerable in the region through shelter, counseling, education, advocacy, and reverence for life. In this case, CCETN is collecting money for local relief for the emergency conditions in East Tennessee. Primary needs continue to be emergency housing, food, water, hygiene items and cleaning supplies.
SHAMROCK CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
The 38th year of the Shamrock Open was held on October 21st at the Tennessee National Golf Club. It is one of Knoxville’s longest running golf tournaments and was sold out again this year. Omega sponsored a team to help raise money to benefit the students of Knoxville Catholic High School. Ranked in the top 5% in the nation by the Catholic Education Honor Roll, Knoxville Catholic has a 100% graduation rate and awarded more than $12M in scholarships in 2024.
Community Events
Omega Technical Services is a proud supporter of the Oak Ridge Breakfast Rotary Club. The club motto is “Time for Family, Time for Work, and Time for Community“ because they believe in pursuing an open forum of men and women who simply believe in helping others. Omega is sponsoring an upcoming fundraiser called “Lunch for Literacy” with guest speaker Silas House. Mr. House is a southern author who has penned multiple New York Times Bestsellers. Mr. House has an inspiring story of growing up in poverty in the South. More information on Mr. House can be found at the following link from a Deep South Magazine article.

CNTA LECTURE AND DINNER
On October 24, Omega Technical Services supported the Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness (CNTA) organization in Aiken, SC by attending the 33rd Annual Teller Lecture Series. The Annual Edward Teller Lecture and Banquet is an event hosted by CNTA to educate the public and its members on relevant nuclear topics. Cary Langham, VP of Technical Services, Bill Tindal, President, and Bill Giddings, Director of Omega’s Program Management Office – East are pictured here at the reception for the event.
NUCLEAR SCIENCE WEEK CAREER AND JOB FAIR
Omega attended the 1st Annual Nuclear Science Week Career and Job Fair on October 24. This event was hosted by the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce to promote nuclear career paths and job opportunities to soon-to-be graduates, early careerists, and seasoned professionals. Cindy Light, Human Resources Director, and Erin Collins, Marketing Specialist, interacted with attendees of all ages and backgrounds, including a very energetic 8th grader interested in the Nuclear Energy Field.
A Note from Cary Langham
Vice President of Technical Services
Why I Chose Omega
When I made the decision to join Omega Technical Services, one of the main reasons was the family-oriented environment that immediately stood out to me. I saw a unique opportunity to help grow a small business into something much larger, all while maintaining a strong sense of community. Omega allowed me to stay closely connected to our mission of supporting nuclear deterrence, a critical national security objective. Additionally, I recognized that Omega offered a platform for extensive career growth—not just for myself, but for the entire team—while making a meaningful impact in our industry.
Employee Welcome & Spotlight
Please join us in welcoming Erin Collins to the Omega Technical Services Team as our Marketing Specialist. Erin joined Omega in October for its positive reputation and was driven by her keen interest in the industry. Not only would we like to welcome Erin to our team, we would also like to take this opportunity to feature her in our Employee Spotlight.
Erin graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2022 with a BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Retail & Consumer Science. While at UT, she had two marketing internships, served as a captain of the student recruiter organization for the football team (Go Vols!), served as the First Vice President of her sorority, and volunteered throughout her 4 years with different organizations.
Her post-college career history includes working as an Account Coordinator for a local Marketing & PR company, and working as the Digital Marketing Coordinator and later promoted to a Digital Marketing Specialist for RDI Technologies. Throughout her career, Erin has embraced valuable lessons: as a young professional, confidence in oneself and in one’s skills is vital. For Erin, it is essential to value the input and opinions of different generations in the workplace. From her college years and various internships, she learned that young professionals must realize their input is both valuable and impactful.
Erin’s life outside work is filled with joy and creativity. She has two beloved cats, Albert and Lucy, and enjoys streaming movies and TV shows with her boyfriend, Robert. Erin loves going to trivia nights with her friends, traveling, and skiing. Erin has a passion for painting, which she enjoys from time to time. Erin is also a gifted singer, with her go-to karaoke song being Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats”.
Erin brings a vibrant energy and invaluable perspective to the team, making her an incredible asset to the company. We are happy to have you on board, Erin!

Pet of the Month
Introducing November’s pet of the month:
Nermal, belonging to Craig Anderson, is a soon-to-be ten-year-old Ragdoll cat that it has been my absolute pleasure to call my pet. He’s as sweet, personable, and playful as can be. His favorite hobbies include:
- Stalking me (particularly when Mother Nature calls)
- Strings
- Primal Zoomies
- Sleeping in awkward positions and places
- Staring at me while I read
- Staring at me while I try to get to sleep
For the past 14 months, we’ve celebrated the paws-itively amazing pets of Omega. Thank you all for your wonderful submissions! While Nermal marks our final Pet of the Month, we’re thrilled to shift our focus to the ‘Hometown Holiday Favorites’. We can’t wait to see the culibary magic you’ll create!
