Shared Success, Shared Future
The last business trip I took was to North Augusta for a supplier forum hosted by the Energy, Technology and Environmental Business Association (ETEBA). These meetings typically include a social event, and I was pumped to find out that this one included a game with the North Augusta Green Jackets. I’m a big baseball fan and have always enjoyed a 9-inning vacation. A side benefit was the opportunity to catch up with some fellow Omega employees. There was a conversation that had a big impact on me. One of our Omega colleagues was describing some very important work he was doing on a project. It was clear that his work products had a significant impact on the success of the project. Equally important, the client was thrilled. While I can’t remember his exact words, he said something to the effect, “Don’t forget that my success is an Omega success.” Wow. I hadn’t thought about the work we do in that way.
I know many of you have been with Omega for quite some time. While others have just recently come on board. Either way, I’m proud to have you on the team. Part of what makes us successful is our clients have confidence that we only offer the highest caliber technical employees. But we want to grow. Continuing to offer new employment opportunities requires that we make our case to new clients. Making that case is easy when we have objective evidence that you’re making a difference for your team.
I find it hard sometimes to talk about my accomplishments. It seems self-serving. But this has a purpose. Please share with us what you’re working on. Share the impact it’s having on the mission work in your area. Soon, we will be implementing strategies where we capture these accomplishments more intentionally. Until then, please send them to Dave Rose, our Chief of Staff at drose@omegatechserv.com.
Employee Spotlight
This month, we are excited to highlight Regis Strauss, a Project Manager at the Savannah River Site. Regis has been instrumental in leading and assisting numerous projects across the site. He has mentored many project managers, guiding them through Earned Value Management, schedule development and compliance, and other PMI topics. Additionally, he has led numerous training sessions for the Project Management Office and site training, significantly enhancing the Project Management and Project Controls organizations.
Regis shares that the most important lessons he has learned throughout his career have been: “Don’t give up. Don’t take ‘no’ for an answer. Knock down every roadblock that is put in your way. And teamwork.” Regis embodies these lessons every day.
Outside of work, Regis is an avid sports enthusiast and devoted husband and father. As a proud Penn State graduate, Regis is a dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan; he has even indoctrinated his Southern wife into a fellow Steelers enthusiast! Regis’ three sons share his passion for sports. He coached them in baseball, football, and golf during their youth, instilling the values of teamwork and determination from an early age. Regis and his sons are also skilled golfers. For the past 40 years, the four have traveled North for an annual golf tournament in the southern suburbs of Pittsburgh where Regis grew up.
Regis’ dedication, expertise, and positive spirit make him a standout member of our team. It is clear that he is not only a hardworking project manager, but also a family man with strong values and a deep commitment to the happiness and prosperity of those he loves. Thank you, Regis, for being an inspiration to our team!

National Hispanic Heritage Month is a month-long celebration of Hispanic and Latino history and culture. While we celebrate Hispanic and Latino communities beyond this month, from September 15 to October 15, we give extra recognition to the many contributions made to the history and culture of the United States, including important advocacy work, vibrant art, popular and traditional foods, and much more.
The day of September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively. Please join us in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month!

Pets of the Month
Introducing September’s pet of the month:
Meet Gema and Odin, the wonderful companions to Lisa Goins. Lisa shares: “The Brown Pup is Gema and the other big pup is Odin who just turned one on the 1 year anniversary of losing my pup Harley of 13 years, so getting him I tell myself it was meant to be. They are both labs and as you can see their favorite place is the lake. They love to fetch their toy in the lake and play on the swim mat. When its not lake season they spend their time fetching outside. They are my most loved favorite babies, well besides my kiddos.”
